English Oak 1941/42 Dressing Table with Mirror back By Brand Utility

The piece we believe to be a 1941/42 Dressing table by Brand Utility in an oak. This was a government scheme in the 40’s to produce affordable clothes and furniture in the UK.
The wood has a beautiful cherry tone against the Metal handles and has a visually interesting grain through the middle drawer.
It is a sturdy functional piece, has a tilting mirror, although with the age there is some degrading/rusting to the tilting joint that will need some attention to get the desired angle and has good depth to the drawers for storage, with the two smaller drawers for makeup etc to either side of the recessed top. This section also has a thin shelf for display items.

- W 99cm,
- D47.5 including handles .
- The surface measures 23cm for each rise with small drawer and the reses is 53cm wide, with a height for base to top of recess 56cm.
- The drawers are 18.5cm deep.
Condition: For its age it is in good sturdy condition. The piece is a mix of solid and veneered oak, some small areas of age to the veneer areas and the metal hinge to tilt the mirror has rust and will need lubrication to move freely to tilt mirror. This will be removed for transport and place in the one of the top drawers. Photos have been taken of these areas.
