HFS is a member of the national Community RePaint Network that encourages the reuse of unwanted, surplus paint for re-distribution to individuals, families, communities and charities in need, improving the wellbeing of people and the appearance of places across the UK.
We accept paint from retailers and manufacturers that may be end-of-line, mis-mixed or in a dented can but is new, full and usable. If you want to donate part-tins of paint it is best to take it to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Site.
We also stock recycled paint in a range of colours. This premier grade paint is made from reprocessed water-based interior emulsion, blended, coloured and repackaged.
Paint is sold at affordable rates for people with low incomes and community groups. If you are eligible for a discount, please bring proof of receiving benefits or representing a charity when you come to the store.
We also use the paint for training courses and transforming furniture – read more.
If you need paint, pop in to our Hastings store which is open 6 days a week.
The Community Repaint Network says “Each year around 366 million litres of paint (retail and trade) are sold in the UK. Of this, it is estimated that approximately 55 million litres are unused, stored in homes or garages or just thrown away. That’s enough paint to fill 22 Olympic-sized swimming pools and almost 77,000 tonnes of waste that will probably end up in landfill sites!”
