HFS helps people with low incomes to furnish & equip their homes at affordable rates.

Low income households

If you live in Hastings or Rother Council areas and receive a means-tested benefit such as Universal Credit, Housing Benefit or Working Tax Credits, bring proof of this with you when you visit our stores. You will be entitled to get up to 50% discount on furniture, access to essential items such as beds and large electrical items which are in short supply and therefore prioritised for our customers with low incomes. We will also deliver your purchases free of charge.

Eligible benefits include: Income Support, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, income-related JSA or ESA, Council Tax Benefit, Pension Credit and Working Tax Credit.

If you need help to buy essential furniture for your home

If you have any support workers, talk to them about your needs as they might be able to help you apply for grants towards the cost of your furniture.

If you are a Housing Association tenant, your housing officer might be able to help you apply for a furniture voucher to spend at HFS.

Students and Pensioners

If you are a student or a pensioner then Hastings Furniture Service will offer you a 10% discount off furniture and free local delivery. Please bring proof of eligibility to the store with you.

Charity and Community

If you are shopping for a non-profit organisation such as a charity, social enterprise or community group, our stores provide up to 50% discounts and free delivery on both household and office furniture. Bring proof that you represent the group when you visit the store.
